While 2020 will go down in history for the coronavirus pandemic and thousands of deaths, it could also be remembered as the year of cyberattacks. Since many places were closed during the lockdown, online shopping has grown in popularity because it is super-fast, easy, and secure.
Our four-legged friends mean a vital and loving part of our family because those buddies are full of cuteness and love but using their names as online passwords represent an exponential risk for our privacy. Not only our pets, but people also use their children names as a password because those words are easy to remember.
We all love technology because it makes our lives easy, but the more devices we buy, the more e-waste we will eventually produce. There is nothing wrong with buying and using electronics, but we must start reducing the negative impact.
There are thousands of users upgrading their smartphones every other year just because they want the latest one, but on the other hand, we have millions of families that can even afford a good laptop. Repurposing our old equipment or letting them have more owners until they stop working is an excellent way to reduce manufacturing costs, overconsumption of resources, and waste.
