Top 5 Tech Trends for 2021

Nobody could have predicted last year where 2020 would take us. COVID-19 pandemic and the drop of the economy are by far what anybody would have predicted. It is like trying to survive in an apocalyptic world of a zombie videogame, but now this seems a little bit realistic since we are not always safe outdoors.

The year 2020 will never be forgotten. Even with all the mess through this year, the tech sector produced more digital transformation than it did during the last decade.

It might look strange to start making predictions for 2021 when we do not even know if the pandemic will end soon. Going back to the excellent predictions that we all expected for this year, and now looking at how it is going, I do not want to think about the upcoming year. Only time will tell what will 2021 have for us, but according to experts, it will be an excellent year for the tech sector.

The 5 Biggest Tech Trends in 2021:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI is currently one of the top trends. According to experts, throughout the next year, the machine learning algorithms will be more trustworthy, striving to help us understand the world around us.

2. Robotics and Drones

We have seen how robots supported the health care sector and society in general through the pandemic. Robotics in 2021 intends to be capable of performing security and cleaning assistance to companies. If the pandemic continues through the next year, drones will be delivering medicines in public areas that represent an exponential risk of being infected.

3. 5G and enhanced connectivity

For many years we have heard about the benefits of 5G, and finally, the next year it will become an essential part of our lives. The tech sector expects that 5G will lead us to enjoy many more options.

4. Cybersecurity

This year, from January to April, the world faced a 238% rise in attacks on banks and 600% in attacks on cloud servers. With this event, cybersecurity has become a trend again thanks to the pandemic.

5. Confidential Computing.

Google, Microsoft, and IBM are together creating protocols for the Confidential Computing Consortium, aiming to develop additional layers of security around sensitive information in 2021.
