Did you know that Facebook has an app that allows you to identify people by pointing it with your mobile
Facebook stands out as one of the social networks that launches the most news to improve the user experience, such as Viewpoints, an application that pays you for participating in surveys and market research.
However, security is one of the main points to improve or strengthen by the social network of Mark Zuckerberg, and more after trying a function that stores data on your face. The last of the platform is an app that allows people to identify by pointing it with their mobile.
Facebook has developed a facial recognition application that can identify users of the well-known social network in just a few seconds and just point them with the mobile.
This tool had been abandoned by the platform, but it seems that Mark Zuckerberg's team has retaken it.
Some sources have confirmed to this media that there is an application for employees of the social network that can identify users with just the camera of a smartphone.
Facebook has a facial recognition system for photographs that are uploaded to the platform, but until now it was unknown that this system works beyond labeling the users of the social network. An application that was first presented at an internal meeting in 2015 and was available in beta for employees a year later.
This beta version was able to recognize anyone in just a few seconds and thanks to the data stored in the social network. A function that, at that time, was only available to employees and their Facebook friends.
During that trial period it was found that the app was able to identify a user in just 5 seconds, and then show their name and profile picture.
Facebook has confirmed the existence of this application, but a spokesman for the social network has assured that the facial recognition only applied to the company's employees and their friends who had previously authorized it on their profile.
Since then the application has not been available, but it is still a great stone in the way of Facebook in terms of its responsibility regarding the privacy of users.
