Good news for all our Apple enthusiasts! New, faster, and much better Qi2.2 wireless chargers are about to launch. This upgrade means charging your devices wirelessly is about to get faster, more stable, and more reliable.

Qi2.2 builds on Qi2, which uses magnetic alignment like Apple’s MagSafe. It increases wireless charging speed by raising the power limit from 15 watts to 25 watts.

This represents a 66% improvement in speed compared to its predecessor, Qi2. The upgrade may allow faster top-ups for compatible devices, without using cables or worrying about overheating.

If you want to upgrade your wireless charging setup, Qi2.2-certified products are beginning to appear on the market. However, to fully take advantage of the faster 25-watt speeds, your phone must also support Qi2.2.

It's important to note that only recent models such as the iPhone 16 and newer are compatible with Qi2. Early reports suggest that upcoming iPhone 17 models will support the new 25-watt wireless speeds. They may also introduce Apple’s own MagSafe 2.0, based on the Qi2 framework.
